New RobotGeek I/O Boards are Here! Posted: 11 Feb 2013 08:43 AM PST We’ve been busy the last few months perfecting our new line of RobotGeek I/O boards, and they’re finally ready for the debut! We do a lot of rapid prototyping, and we’ve seen our fair share of I/O boards and shields – but none of them have been exactly what we needed. So we finally decided to make our own! These boards use a standard 2.54mm(.1″) pitch 3-pin connector – just like a standard hobby servo. This makes these I/O boards compatible with standard 3-Pin cables and breaboards. You can even use a Squid Cable to hook a board directly to your Arduino! Also like hobby servos, our boards use a standard ground-voltage-signal pinout, making them compatible with a wide variety of sensor shields and interface boards. Digital InputOut basic Pushbutton is great for any project that needs a simple digital input. For basic orientation sensing, we also have the RobotGeek Tilt Sensor. This board has multiple output ports for the tilt sensor, making it easy to mount in any project. Digital OutputOur RobotGeek Buzzer is a great way to add basic audio to your project – just send it a ‘High’ signal, and you’ll get a tone. The RobotGeek LED driver is a great way to drive an LED without having to worry about drawing too much power directly from your Arduino’s output pin. Like the tilt sensor, we’ve designed this board so you can mount the LED horizontally or vertically. Our final digital output board, the RobotGeek Relay is a great way to control motors, solenoids, and more easily from your Arduino. Analog InputThe RobotGeek Slider and Rotation Knob are great boards for any project that needs fine analog control. And if you need two potentiometers on one board, try the RobotGeek Joystick. Finally, the RobotGeek Voltage Divider will take any standard variable resistor (like out Force-Sensing Resistors) and create a microcontroller ready signal for you to use.
